Commanders star out for season

The Washington Commanders are not having the sort of season they expected at the onset. Just a year after reaching the NFC Championship, there was a lot of buzz around Washington’s ability to take things a step further and make it all the way to the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, injuries have completely derailed things thus far into the season. On Sunday, star quarterback Jayden Daniels was sidelined for the second time this season, and on Monday underwent an MRI.

“Commanders QB Jayden Daniels had an MRI on his hamstring and it is not considered a long term injury, per HC Dan Quinn. But his status for next Monday night vs. KC won’t be revealed until later this week,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Then, Schefter followed up with another Commanders injury, this time of the season-ending variety.

“Commanders DE Dorance Armstrong suffered a season-ending knee injury, per Dan Quinn.”

Fans reacted to the brutal developments on social media.

“Devastating news for the Commanders—Dorance Armstrong’s season-ending knee injury is a huge blow to our pass rush. With Jayden Daniels’ hamstring status uncertain, this week’s prep for KC just got tougher. Hope for a speedy recovery, Dorance!” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“That’s tough news about Armstrong. Hoping Jayden Daniels is good to go for Monday night!” someone else added.

“yeah season is over. Can’t do anything when your best 3 WRs are out, top 2 DEs are out, and secondary is (bad),” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see where Washington goes from here.
