Former Blue Valley Northwest, Kansas star Christian Braun signs major contract extension

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Christian Braun earned an NBA championship ring in his rookie season. By his third season, he was a regular starter for the Denver Nuggets. And now, he is getting paid like a star.

The Blue Valley Northwest and University of Kansas product agreed to a five-year, $125 million rookie contract extension with the Nuggets, according to ESPN NBA reporter Shams Charania.

Braun averaged 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.1 steals during the 2024-25 season.

With Denver trading former Missouri guard Michael Porter Jr. to the Brooklyn Nets, Braun figures to play an even larger role on the Nuggets.

Denver opens its season Thursday when it travels to Golden State.
