Nuno Espírito Santo says he and his West Ham players must “pull the fans back together” after losing at home to Brentford.
The Hammers were well beaten at the London Stadium with goals from Igor Thiago and Mathias Jensen securing the victory for the Bees.
Some West Ham fans opted to stay away from the game altogether in protest against the club’s owners, while many more left before full time.
And Espírito Santo admits his players are feeling the “concern” of the supporters.
“I honestly believe our fans are concerned,” he told Sky Sports after the game.
“More than anything, the silence is about being concerned of the situation. They are concerned and you can feel it.
“That feeling passes to the players in anxiety, because we had precise situations that quality players like we have shouldn’t have.
“It’s a mix of everything and in the end it becomes harder for the players.
“But now it’s fair enough to say we are the ones that have to pull the fans back together.”
