Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Broderick Jones has joked that he may tackle Aaron Rodgers again after the veteran quarterback lashed out during Thursday's 33-31 defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Steelers lost a thrilling Thursday Night Football against the Bengals, as Joe Flacco faced off against Rodgers at Paycor Stadium. Rodgers showed his frustration on two occasions, the first instance occurring in the first quarter after a miscommunication with running back Jaylen Warren.

The second, and the most ferocious, was after Jones accidentally tackled Rodgers to the ground following a touchdown pass to tight end Pat Freiermuth. Rodgers shoved Jones after getting back to his feet, but the Steelers' duo have since joked about the altercation.

With 2:21 to go in the fourth quarter, Rodgers connected with Freiermuth for a stunning 68-yard touchdown. The Steelers led 31-30 after Chris Boswell converted the extra point, but the Bengals came back to win after Evan McPherson kicked a 36-yard walk-off field goal.

As Rodgers was celebrating the Freiermuth touchdown, Jones rushed over to the Pittsburgh quarterback and attempted to embrace him. Instead, the 331-pound tackle brought Rodgers to the ground, and he was furious.

Rodgers shoved Jones and exchanged some words, but they made up after the game. Speaking to reporters on Monday, Jones was asked about the incident and confirmed that there's no hostility between him and Rodgers.

"We’re still joking about it," Jones said. "Yeah, he was a little mad but it’s all right. You know, it’s football. It gets intense. It’s still no love lost.

"It’s just the energy that he brings and that I bring. He told me don’t lose the fire and I told him the same. We shall see on Sunday after he throws another touchdown, I might tackle him again."

While Rodgers was the victim of a big tackle in the fourth quarter, his frustrations with Warren have led to discussions. Rodgers was seen yelling at the Steelers running back after he ran a flea flicker play that wasn't agreed upon.

After receiving the ball unexpectedly, Rodgers threw the ball away and was seen yelling at Warren. "It wasn't supposed to be a flea flicker," Rodgers said after the game. "We weren't on the same page."

However, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that it was meant to be a flea flicker, suggesting that it was Rodgers who got confused, and not Warren. Rodgers is looking to put the Week 7 loss behind him, and prepare for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers will face his former team in Sunday Night Football, and the Packers are now 4-1-1 after a narrow victory over the Arizona Cardinals. "We're 4-2, still first in division, got a couple home games coming up, back-to-back, another Sunday night opportunity against my former team," Rodgers said.

The Steelers quarterback then called on his teammates to be at their best. "I'm not going to ride the rollercoaster and I know (Steelers coach) Mike (Tomlin) isn't, and hopefully guys follow suit."
