The Packers avoided tripping up against the Arizona Cardinals in a similar fashin to a Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t significant areas Green Bay must improve on following Sunday’s 27-23 victory.
Whether it is slow starts or failing to protect leads, the Packers have dealt with myriad issues through the season’s first six games, and Sunday afternoon was no different.

Throughout Sunday’s game, penalties remained a major concern for the Packers, which LaFleur hopes to clean up ahead of next week’s clash against Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“We cannot do that,” LaFleur told reporters, after Sunday’s game. “We’ve done it way too many times. Trust me, it’s preached regularly every day. We’ve got to clean it up if we want to become the team I think we’re capable of being.
“Too many undisciplined plays, and we’re lucky it didn’t come back and bite us.”
At one point, the Packers jumped offsides on two seperate third down and long situations that prolonged Cardinals drives.
Whether it was the environment, a lack of focus from travel concerns, or merely playing undisciplined football, penalties nearly cost the Packers against the Cardinals.
Sunday afternoon, Green Bay was flagged for 10 calls for 94 yards, including several penalties late in the game that threatened to derail the Packers’ comeback efforts.
The margin for error is goign to be much slimmer in the weeks ahead, but it sure sounds like LaFleur is aware and intent on fixing the issues.
