Grizzlies’ Ty Jerome out at least 4 weeks with calf sprain

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Grizzlies will be without guard Ty Jerome as the 2025-26 season tips off.

The team announced Jerome was diagnosed with a high-grade right calf strain.

Jerome was injured during the first quarter of the Grizzlies’ preseason game against the Miami Heat on Friday.

Jerome will be re-evaluated in four weeks, meaning he will not be available for the beginning of the season.

The Grizzlies are already without Center Zach Edey, Forward Brandon Clarke and Guard Scotty Pippen Jr., who are all expected to miss significant time and will not be ready for game one.

On the bright side, stars Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ja Morant, who are both battling injuries of their own, are expected to be available for the beginning of the season.
