The San Francisco 49ers continue to get hammered with critical injuries to their key players. Despite this, they are still 5-2 and sit atop the NFC West.
The injuries are especially starting to pile up on the defensive side of the ball. San Francisco is already without Nick Bosa and Fred Warner, and now in the 49ers' Sunday night win over the Atlanta Falcons, defensive end Bryce Huff went down with a hamstring injury.
49ers' Kyle Shanahan tells reporters he hopes Bryce Huff's hamstring injury isn't serious
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters, “Hopefully it won't be longer than two weeks.” Another tough blow to this 49ers defense that is trying to find guys to fill the massive void of Warner and Bosa.
This is also unfortunate news because Bryce Huff was coming off one of his best games this season. He had a sack, five tackles, and two quarterback hits. This is Huff's first season with San Francisco, and the injury happened at the very end of the game against the Falcons.
Huff has been the team's top pass-rushing threat over the past few weeks.
In other 49ers injury-related news, the team will also be without center Jake Brendel, who also has a hamstring, and may miss a couple of weeks as well, according to Shanahan.
Again, despite the injuries, San Francisco continues to run itself into victories, and it's yet to be determined how losing many players on both sides of the ball will impact the team's success.
