The Dallas Cowboys' offense has been one of the best in football over the first seven weeks and now they are getting another receiving option back.
Forgotten man Jonathan Mingo is back on the practice field after a knee injury robbed him of the first seven weeks of the season, and now he looks to pick up where he left off at training camp having impressed in Oxnard.
But Dallas does have an abundance of receivers, so it won't exactly be easy for Mingo to see the field in Brian Schottenheimer's offense, but the head coach has stated what Jonathan needs to do to get on the field this season.
“I think last week was a great step for him,” Schottenheimer said. “I think he practiced well, it was very close. We almost did it last week, but we felt like give him these next couple days and just the consistency of it. We're a very deep receiver room, so, he's got to show the ability to go in and make plays and get that timing down with Dak. There's also a special teams element to it.
“Jonathan had a good week of practice last week. He needs to do that again this week and the timing and stuff will come.”

Mingo ready to prove his worth
Sitting on the sidelines is tough for any player, but for one who was traded to the Cowboys midway through last season, it is even more so.
After a good training camp, Mingo now has to pick up where he left off and Mingo stated that he's "excited" per The Athletic's Jon Machota to get things rolling, and of course, it begins with stacking good days in practice at The Star.
As we mentioned above, it won't be easy due to the receiver room's ability, but Mingo will fancy his chances to see the field over the likes of Ryan Flournoy and Jalen Tolbert, but time will tell if the former Carolina Panther can do it.
He's got his chance, now he has to make the most of it.
