ANDONI Iraola said he and Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner had a ‘nice chat’ after the two teams played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

The two bosses, who have both received huge plaudits for their sides’ performances so far this season and across their tenures on the south coast and south London, had a long embrace on the touchline after the game.

Iraola has led Bournemouth to back-to-back record points hauls in the Premier League, while Glasner guided Palace to their first major trophy last season when they won the FA Cup, before they also won the Community Shield.

The games between the two managers have been very close across their time at the two clubs.

Iraola’s [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/?ref=au) came out on top in the first meeting between the two in April 2024, after Justin Kluivert scored the winner with 11 minutes to go in a 1-0 at Dean Court.

Last season, both games saw neither side score in two 0-0s.

But on Saturday, the two played out arguably the game of the season so far.

Bournemouth deservedly led 2-0 at half time thanks to a Junior Kroupi brace, before Palace came back into the game after the break to equalise.

Ryan Christie then edged the Cherries back in front in the final minute of the 90, but Jean-Philippe Mateta completed his hattrick in stoppage time from the penalty spot to see the spoils shared.

Asked about the meetings between the two sides, Iraola said: “We've played, I think four games. All the games have been very, very level.

“We were even chatting because the first goal they scored, I've seen straight away, I see the replay and I see that he's not offside and I've told him it's not offside, it's a goal.

“And we were laughing in that moment.

“But no, we've had a nice chat. We've wished each other all the best. And they are doing amazing, not just this season. They are doing even from past season. And I hope them all the best to this.”
