The 2025-26 NBA season has arrived, and there are plenty of storylines to follow.
This season, a record 15 Australians are on opening night rosters, with four fresh faces adding to the growing list of Aussies in the league, including Tyrese Proctor (Cleveland Cavaliers), Alex Toohey (Golden State Warriors), Lachlan Olbrich (Chicago Bulls), and Rocco Zikarsky (Minnesota Timberwolves).
Meanwhile, there are several notable Aussies set to take another step in Year 2 with their teams. Josh Giddey is fresh off signing a $100m extension with the Chicago Bulls, while Dyson Daniels looks to follow up his Most Improved Player of the Year campaign with another big season for the Atlanta Hawks, after signing a four-year extension on the eve of the season.
Johnny Furphy looms as the breakout Aussie this year, after an impressive pre-season as the Pacers look to compete in the East without injured All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton.
Across the league, the storylines are aplenty as the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder look to become the first team to defend its title in eight years, while teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks look to take the next step and compete for a title.
