Player ‘definitely open’ to Brentford move – Bees already tabled offer

PSV Eindhoven rejected Brentford’s attempts to sign Joey Veerman last summer.

The disappointment won’t put off the Bees. Voetbal International reported last Tuesday there’s a good chance of them making a fresh attempt in January.

Two days later, Soccer News reported the Eredivisie side fear Brentford will return to sign the midfielder. This comes after Antoni Milambo suffered a serious injury earlier this month.

VI’s report of Brentford’s interest in the 26-year-old is discussed during Voetbal Primeur‘s podcast, Done Deal. They also point out the Premier League club’s failure to sign him towards the end of last window, after tabling a €30m bid.

The Netherlands international was used as a defensive midfielder and in the middle of the pitch this season. He managed to impress, scoring four goals and registering four assists from eight league matches.

Voetbal Primeur say it ‘would be great’ for Veerman if he were to secure a move to the English club. They believe Brentford lack creativity in midfield.

Should Brentford return for the Dutchman in the winter market, VP claim ‘he’ll definitely be open to it.’
