‘5 minutes of glory’ – Leeds United loanee gets reward for dedication to move

Mateo Joseph went on strike at Leeds United to secure his exit last summer.

Real Betis were determined to sign him on advantageous terms but lost to RCD Mallorca in the end. The latter signed him on loan from Leeds United.

The striker has played eight matches, including four starts, for Mallorca so far. He’s failed to score and managed two assists after seven matches.

At the weekend, the Leeds United loanee came off the bench in the 62nd minute against Sevilla. At that time, Mallorca were 1-0 down and finished with a 3-1 win. Joseph gave Mallorca the lead in the 72nd minute and then netted his second goal in the 77th minute.

Tuesday’s edition of Última Hora has a report on the 22-year-old, titled: ‘5 minutes of glory’.

They discuss how the frontman has been rewarded for his dedication to push for a move away from Leeds United. Mallorca manager Jagoba Arrasate was key in Joseph’s arrival and remains confident he’ll ‘eventually explode’.

That hasn’t happened so far. The Whites owned player has managed two goals and has two assists. He scored seven goals from 76 games in the last two seasons for Leeds United.

Última Hora are trying to create hype around the frontman. They say ‘everyone expects’ Joseph to explode this season at Mallorca and that the brace against Sevilla could be the start of it.
