Cardinals’ Jonathan Gannon admits glaring truth after losing to the Packers

The Arizona Cardinals started the 2025 NFL season with back-to-back victories over the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders, but it has since gone downhill for Jonathan Gannon’s squad. In Week 7, the Green Bay Packers handed Arizona its fifth straight loss, with Jordan Love and company coming away with a 27-23 come-from-behind win in Glendale.

That loss to the Packers left Gannon in a more difficult position, as Arizona couldn’t seem to get it together. The Cardinals are now 2-5, while the Packers improved to 4-1-1.

Gannon knows only winning can change view on Cardinals after losing to Green Bay

Given the adversity the Cardinals are facing following their latest loss to Green Bay, Gannon admits that there’s no other way for Arizona to change people’s perception of the team than win games.

“I would say we have had adversity hit us since we’ve been here, since I’ve been here, and we are in it now, right?” said the Cards head coach to reporters on Monday (h/t Bo Brack of PHNX Sports)

“And there’s only one way to kind of flip the narrative, which I feel really confident with how we’re going to do that, you know? And we’re going to put our best foot forward, put all the energy and effort into flipping it, and then let the chips fall, you know? But I do feel good about what we’re going to do when we get back here on Monday.”

"There is only one way to flip the narrative."

The Cardinals have a long rest ahead, with the team scheduled for a bye in Week 8 — a much-needed time for Arizona to reflect on the season and think of ways to recapture the team’s spark on the field.
