The appointment of Sean Dyche as Nottingham Forest's new manager has been described as an "interesting decision" by one of the club's former players.
The ex-Everton and Burnley boss was announced as the Reds' new gaffer on Tuesday morning after an agreement was reached between the two parties on a contract that will run until the summer of 2027.
It follows the brutal sacking of Ange Postecoglou, who lasted just 39 days in charge at the City Ground and failed to win any of his eight games.
Dyche becomes Forest's third manager of a season that is not yet three months old. The 54-year-old will be tasked with turning around a wretched run of results that includes five league defeats in their last six matches and an embarrassing Europa League loss at home to Danish minnows Midtjylland.
But with the club having only scored five goals in their first eight Premier League matches, former Forest striker Rob Earnshaw has suggested that his ex-club need a more attacking-minded approach to pull themselves up the table.
Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live, he said: "To win anything and to be successful, you've got to have some kind of defensive structure but number one is you've got to dominate the opponents. Attacking wins games.
"Nottingham Forest play in Europe against Porto this week and then Bournemouth and Manchester United. So all of these games, they are going to need that attacking threat. They've got good players but attacking football is what's going to win you games.
"That's what Forest need. Ange Postecoglou was sacked because of not winning games and not having enough going forward. So it's an interesting decision to go to Sean Dyche. I am curious to see how they will start to play."

Dyche is no stranger to the City Ground, having been a youth player at the club in the 1980s under Brian Clough. He will be joined on his coaching staff by former Forest players Ian Woan and Steve Stone, giving the technical team a familiar feel.
Dyche's win percentage as Everton manager was 31%, but if Earnshaw's reaction to his appointment appears to be a little luke-warm, he has already been backed to succeed by a former Premier League boss in Alan Pardew.
Speaking ahead of Dyche's appointment on talkSPORT, Pardew said: "I think Sean would be best. Firstly, he plays a very similar game to Nuno (Espirito Santo). He knows how to block teams out, he knows how to counter-attack, he's good at set plays - I think Nottingham Forest are weak at set plays.

"That would be of benefit. Very similar ilk. Then, get these new players who aren't getting a game at the moment. Try and get them revved up, try and get something out of them. I think he can be strong with the owner. Sean's got that personality to have some strength against this character, Marinakis, who's a very powerful man. And he's shown that.
"What's he had? 28 managers across his eight years as an owner of two football clubs. It might even be more. There just managers that I counted up at Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest. He cuts his managers quite quickly. I think Sean will be good for him and good for Nottingham Forest."
