Rangers have appointed Rohl after a long hunt for a replacement for Russell Martin.
Rohl was appointed Germany assistant manager at the age of just 31 by Flick, after he previously coached at Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Southampton.
But Germany had a disastrous World Cup in 2022 where they were knocked out of the tournament in the group stages after a defeat from Japan, a draw with Spain and a win against Costa Rica.
Flick allowed access all areas to a documentary team and the subsequent programme saw the current Barca boss take plenty of criticism.
And Scholl - who won Euro 96, a Champions League and eight Bundesliga titles as a Bayern player - was particularly scathing about the role played by Rohl.
He said: "I don't think the documentary did Hansi Flick any favours.
"But I still think he's a great person and a very, very good coach.

"I think Flick was driven crazy at the World Cup by his assistant, Danny Rohl, who constantly distracted him with his iPad.
"He was a nuisance with his iPad.
"Hansi lost track of things a bit because he trusted the wrong man."
But Flick backed Rohl, with the pair eventually leaving the job in 2023..
He said: "I value Danny as an absolute expert who shares my vision and ideas about football."
