Official: Barcelona squad list to face Olympiacos – forward returns but defender out

FC Barcelona will lock horns with Greek giants Olympiacos later tonight in the UEFA Champions League, hoping to secure back-to-back victories after defeating Girona in La Liga over the weekend.

Ahead of the clash at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, manager Hansi Flick has announced the squad list of players called up, with there being one new absentee for Barcelona.

Indeed, Andreas Christensen has been ruled out of the match against Olympiacos. The defender did not train on Monday due to gastrointestinal illness, and he has not recovered enough to be called up for the match.

In a major development, though, Ferran Torres is back in the squad after having missed the last game due to muscle overload.

There were question marks over his availability after he did not train with the group on Monday, but he is ready and available, and has received the medical green light.

Meanwhile, Fermin Lopez is back in the squad after missing the previous Champions League game against PSG through injury and is in contention to start tonight.

Gavi, Robert Lewandowski, Dani Olmo, Raphinha, Joan Garcia, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen all remain unavailable.

Youngsters Xavi Espart and Juan Hernandez have been called up again, along with Roony Bardghji, Dro, and Toni Fernandez.
