It’s fair to say that Fabio Silva doesn’t have many positive things to say about his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Indeed, he is now seemingly aiming thinly veiled digs at them via praise for Las Palmas. He’s been speaking to Marca after spending last season on loan with the Spanish club before joining Borussia Dortmund this summer.
That loan move from Wolves proved to be a good one for him. He scored 10 goals and registered three assists with them last season. Those numbers eventually earned him a move to Dortmund this summer.
That brought an end to a miserable spell at wolves where he managed just five goals and six assists in 72 games after arriving in a €40m deal in 2020. Most of his time at Molineux was spent out on loan, with Anderlecht, PSV Eindhoven, Glasgow Rangers and then Las Palmas last season.
The 23-year-old eventually got tired of that, making it clear on more than one occasion. It was because of that he pushed for his €22.5m move to Borussia Dortmund this summer.
Now Wolves don’t get a mention at all in an interview with Marca, although it’s easy to see a little dig in comments about Las Palmas.
“Everything. A player needs confidence to feel good and happy,” he said when asked what the Spanish club gave him.
“Everyone at the club showed me affection, and that’s the most important thing for me. I’m very grateful to them. I have a great affection for the people and I’m sure I’ll visit them soon. A great love was forged with them, something special.”
