Spurs’ didn’t receive a single vote for category NBA hopes GMs are wrong about

If the NBA GMs could change their votes [for the most fun teams](https://www.nba.com/news/2025-26-nba-gm-survey) in the league to watch for this upcoming season, they would probably include the Spurs. They didn't, and that's a travesty. The NBA is surely hoping that those voters are wrong. They gave San Antonio over 20 games on national television; they want the Victor Wembanyama-led club to be their next moneymaker.

The Golden State Warriors are the last dynasty that's slowly being pulled into irrelevance, kicking and screaming. Parity is at an all-time high, but it's even better when there is one team or player that everyone is invested in. The Lakers, Michael Jordan and the Bulls, LeBron James and whatever team he's on, and the Warriors.

Tim Duncan led the Silver and Black on one of the greatest dynasty runs we've ever seen, but the basketball world actively pushed back against Alamo City, so we didn't get that same love. That's okay, though. Today is a new day, and Wembanyama is going to lead the charge for the NBA's new must-watch squad for the foreseeable future.

Spurs will be premium NBA entertainment this season

There were nine teams that received votes for this question, and none of them were a team that had Wemby on it. That's shocking. There are only 30 teams in the league, so that's nearly a third of them. The fascinating part is when you see how many of them voted for Vic as the player they'd start their franchises with if they had the chance. He received over 80% of the vote on that one.

The top five vote-getters were the Nuggets, Thunder, Pacers, Warriors, and Timberwolves. This list proves that having just one special player is enough to get recognized here, because other than Anthony Edwards, there isn't a ton to be excited about when watching Minnesota.

I understand the Warriors. Steph Curry makes it all go, but their style of play is infectious. It's easy to find yourself getting excited while watching one of their games. The Pacers don't even have Tyrese Haliburton, so that tells you that these are real basketball sickos. It's also a credit to Rick Carlisle for putting an entertaining, yet formidable offense on the floor. I still don't know about the top five, though.

I have no gripes about the Nuggets and Thunder. Nikola Jokic is exactly as advertised, and that's definitely enough. OKC's style is reminiscent of a chameleon. They just do what it takes, whether that's fast-paced ball or slowing it down. They can go big or small. I don't love giving them respect, but you have to call a spade a spade. That's a good team and a fun one to watch.

The Spurs have the [star power, athleticism, highlight plays,](https://airalamo.com/mistaken-doubters-already-changing-tune-spurs-dominant-preseason) and defense to get on that list, though. Not one vote? Did they forget how much Stephon Castle loves a poster? And how every game, Vic does something we've never seen? Someone remind them that Brian Wright put together a group that can morph into whatever _they_ need to win.

You know what? The regular season is almost here. Let's just show them.
