Jets’ 0-7 start has one notable fan nuking leadership: ‘Sell the (team)’

One notable Jets fan — and loudmouth — Craig Carton has a problem with his favorite team’s leadership.

In a near-four-minute rant on Monday, Carton began by blasting head coach Aaron Glenn. Carton has a problem with Glenn’s vague answer when asked who would start in Week 8 against the Bengals.

“He is going to go find other coaches who either are currently coaching or used to coach, who had a quarterback problem, and he’s going to ask those guys, what did you do?” Carton said on his daily podcast, via X/Twitter. “That tells you right then and there, if you’re not capable of making this type of decision, then you are not capable of being the head coach of an NFL team.”

Instead of committing to a QB — Carton believes Tyrod Taylor should be the guy — Glenn said he’d consult with other NFL coaches.

The Jets remain the only winless team in the NFL through seven weeks. Their quarterbacks rank last with 143.4 yards per game and have the third fewest passing touchdowns (7) in the NFL.

All of this stems from the ownership down, Carton believes. Since Jets owner Woody Johnson bought the team in 2000, they have a 173-245 record. They’ve made just six playoff appearances during that span, their last appearance being in 2010.

“If I knew enough people who could cobble together about $10 billion ... I would, because it is time for Woodrow Johnson to sell the New York Jets,” Carton said. “The fact that us as fans are celebrating and wishing for an 0-17 season should be all that you need to hear. You’re a lousy owner. You’re the worst owner in the history of New York sports.”
