**Enzo Maresca says Liam Delap is “very close” to returning to Chelsea training.**
The striker has not played since August after injuring his hamstring against Fulham.
But the Blues boss says he hopes the youngster will be back training with the team in the coming days, though will not be ready to return for the Champions League game against Ajax.
“Liam is very close,” Maresca said.
“He is not working with us yet, he is still out, but hopefully he can start in the next days, take part in the session with us.”
Meanwhile, midfielder Enzo Fernandez has trained with the team ahead of the clash.
“Enzo took part in the session yesterday, we have one more session this afternoon, we see if we decide with him tomorrow,” he said.
“But as I said before and again, it was not something that we have to be worried about, it’s just to try to protect Enzo.”
The midfielder missed the game against Nottingham Forest with a knee issue and Maresca says he will make a late decision on whether the Argentinian will be involved.
