The Indianapolis Colts have opened their 2025 season with a 6-1 record that has turned quiet skepticism into serious consideration across the league.
While crowning a Super Bowl favorite in Week 7 remains premature, Indianapolis has displayed balanced execution across all three phases of the game.
The addition of quarterback Daniel Jones appears to have addressed a long-standing void at the position.
With a coaching staff capable of adjusting to any opponent and a roster constructed for multiple paths to victory.
Former NFL receiver Greg Jennings recently offered a bold assessment of the Colts’ playoff credentials, fueling the growing perception that Indianapolis belongs in the conversation among the AFC’s elite contenders.
“I think the question is – are they legit Super Bowl contenders? Yes, they are. I’ve always been a Daniel Jones guy, but this is not just about Daniel Jones. They just are a really good team, top to bottom, coaching staff included. They are a well-constructed team. When you watch them play, you understand what makes them so good. They know who they are, and they can beat you in a multitude of ways offensively,” Jennings said on First Things First.

The Colts’ offense centers around running back Jonathan Taylor, arguably the league’s best at his position this season, and a supporting cast that includes rookie tight end Tyler Warren.
The young tight end has already produced at a standout level, giving Jones another reliable target in critical situations.
With Jones protected and surrounded by weapons, the offense finally possesses the tools it lacked in recent years.
Indianapolis is averaging 33.1 points per game while operating with its eighth starting quarterback in eight years.
Jones has found a way to maximize a roster many dismissed as incomplete heading into the season.
The AFC South remains wide open, and much of the conference has struggled to establish consistency.
The Broncos and Patriots are looking strong, but it’s clear they still have areas to improve.
The Chiefs are starting to click after early struggles, while the Bills, Chargers, and Steelers are all fighting hard, trying to punch their ticket to the playoffs.
That landscape gives Indianapolis every reason to believe it can remain in the playoff conversation through January and potentially beyond.
