The Miami Dolphins were once in an era where ‘Tank for Tua’ seemed like the right thing to do for the AFC franchise, but just a few years later things have gone south very quickly and that could lead to more wholesale changes for the organization after a rough start to the 2025 NFL season.

Mike McDaniel is firmly one the head coaching hot seat through seven weeks of the NFL year, and given the fact that the Dolphins have cemented themselves as one of the worst teams in the league to this point the franchise is starting to have more drama publicly as Tagovailoa’s struggles become more evident.

Tagovailoa was recently benched during Miami’s blowout loss against the Cleveland Browns, where he threw three interceptions against the dominating AFC defense. That prompted McDaniel to not only take the former Alabama star out of the game but also to publicly bash him to the media after giving away 10 interceptions in the first two months of the season.
“My expectation is that we don’t three 10 picks,” McDaniel said following Sunday’s latest loss to Cleveland.

The Dolphins would currently hold a top 5 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and with Tagovailoa’s future very much uncertain there’s a strong possibility that Miami will be looking to select their next quarterback in April if the team continues to struggle mightily.
