TJ Hockenson finally echoed his frustration over Monday night. In a head-to-head clash against the Eagles, the tight end made a clear 15-yard touchdown catch. But things heated up when the Replay Center in New York denied it, and later the touchdown was overturned. After Minnesota’s 28-22 loss, Hockenson questioned how something so obvious to everyone could be reversed.
“New York can’t call in and say that it’s not a catch when every other ref out there says it is.” The TE said in a postgame interview.
Yikes: Vikings TE TJ Hockenson says the refs on the field told him he scored a touchdown but NY went over their head.

Hockenson’s diving catch came late in the fourth quarter and may have put the Vikings within a single score. Two in-field refs rule touchdowns. But things turned sour when NFL VP of Instant Replay Mark Butterworth said the broadcast showed that the ball went before the TE gained control, hitting the ground in between.
The VP said there is clear proof that the call should be overturned. But Hockenson sticks to his point and confirms that he had control the whole time, and even in-field refs have seen that. The overturned call created a more frustrating red zone stretch for Minnesota, which went 1 for 6 inside the 20.
Moreover, QB Went threw two interceptions, including a 42-yard pick-six, and the Vikings continuously went for field goals rather than touchdowns. Moreover, Hockenson could complete six catches for 75 yards, but that catch incident overshadowed his effort.
Hockenson expressed his frustration to the media immediately after the game.
Fans came with their views:
A fan said, “When are people going to realize the NFL is rigged? It’s an entertainment company, not a sports company; look it up.
Otherschimed, “He is clearly not wearing a Chiefs jersey so the refs rule no catch. Pretty simple.”
Another fancommented, “He did not catch the ball 😂! Stop crying. I’m glad NY weighed in.”
A fan took a seriousstance: “Ratings are going to drop if it’s rigged.”
“He dropped the ball. Watch the replay; he didn’t have full possession and dropped the ball,” afan said.
While we’re unsure what will happen, we hope this settles soon.
