AUSTIN, Texas — Texas is riding a two-game win streak after Steve Sarkisian's club left Lexington with the program's first-ever victory over the Wildcats in the Bluegrass State.
The win, along with an excellent performance from the Longhorns' defense and timely special teams play from kicker Mason Shipley and punt-return man Ryan Niblett is the positive.
However, the focus of the victory will be a Texas offense which gained only 179 yards of total offense and eight first downs in the win.
Now, the Southeastern Conference gauntlet continues as Texas will make its first appearance in Davis-Wade Stadium since the George H.W. Bush administration, taking on a Mississippi State team which features a top-50 unit in both scoring average and points per game allowed.
Here's the latest edition of "Four Downs" which features thoughts on the inevitable changes coming to Texas' offense, the impact of Mason Shipley's addition to the team, Chendall Weaver's growth for Texas men's basketball and more.
