“I’m Ready To See Shedeur”: NFL Analyst Thinks Cleveland Browns Should Turn To Shedeur Sanders…

The Cleveland Browns have been going through different quarterbacks already during the course of the 2025 NFL season. In the first four weeks, Cleveland started Joe Flacco.

Over the last three weeks, they have started rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel. The Browns have a 2-5 record this season and they are coming off a 31-6 win over the Miami Dolphins. Cleveland will next face the 5-2 New England Patriots. Gabriel will be making another start in that game. After week eight, they will be on a bye before they face the winless New York Jets (0-7). If Gabriel does not put up big numbers in week eight, should the Browns turn to rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders?

ESPN Cleveland Radio Thinks That the Cleveland Browns Should Turn To Shedeur Sanders After Bye If Dillon Gabriel Doesn’t Put Up Big Numbers

Tony Rizzo of ESPN Cleveland thinks that the Browns should make another quarterback change after the bye week if Gabriel does not put up good numbers against the Patriots. Rizzo said,

“I’m ready to see Shedeur after the bye.”

In reality, it would be a perfect time to switch to Sanders because it would be an extra week of preparation and he would also be facing the worst team in the NFL in the Jets. However, the Browns probably have no interest whatsoever in benching Gabriel for Sanders after the bye week no matter what happens against the Patriots on Sunday. The only way that it will happen is if there is an injury.

This coaching staff probably does not have much interest in starting Sanders at any point this season. They probably want to ride with Gabriel for the rest of the season and see what they have with him. The ground game and defense are what led the team to a week seven victory over the Dolphins. Benching Gabriel after four games would not be a good idea for the Browns.
