Barcelona have intensified talks with Eric Garcia in recent week as the Catalan giants are looking to secure defender’s long-term future.
Following Frenkie de Jong’s renewal Garcia’s extension has become the club’s most immediate concern, according to the Sport.
His current deal will expire on June 30, 2026 and Technical Secretariat regard the Martorell-born center-back as an important part of their defensive setup and believe his presence is crucial for the club’s continuity and once this renewal is completed, attention will turn toward the next name on Deco’s list, as the focus shifts from defense to attack.

According to the Spanish outlet, Ferran Torres has emerged as Barcelona’s next renewal priority as the club aim to secure his long-term commitment.

Both Torres and the club have expressed their desire to continue working together with the coaching staff viewing him as a versatile forward capable of operating across the frontline.
Torres has contributed five goals and one assist in ten appearances this season including four strikes in eight La Liga matches and his output places him among Europe’s most efficient forwards, ranking in the 99th percentile for non-penalty goals per ninety minutes at 0.88.
With Deco assessing options such as Dusan Vlahovic, Eyong and Asllani for the summer, Torres remains Barcelona’s internal solution and a vital part of their attacking structure moving forward.
