The prize money Aston Villa will receive from UEFA if they beat Go Ahead Eagles

Aston Villa are back in Europa League action on Thursday, October 23, travelling to the Netherlands to take on Go Ahead Eagles.

Fresh off the back of a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, Unai Emery and co. are looking to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to seven matches.

Aston Villa began their 2025/26 European venture with a 1-0 win over Bologna before seeing off Feyenoord on October 2.

Aston Villa can earn £379,000 in Europa League prize money

If Villa take three points back to England in midweek, they will net just over £379,000 from UEFA, having already earned over £758,000 from their opening two matches this season.

The full Europa League prize breakdown is listed in the official UEFA resources, with the winner of the entire competition taking home nearly £11m

Winner: €13m (£10.95m)

Runner-up: €7m (£5.90m)

Semi-finalists: €4.2m (£3.54m)

Quarter-finalists: €2.5m (£2.11m)

Round of 16: €1.75m (£1.47m)

Reaching knockout round play-off: €300,000 (£252,800)

League-phase wins: €450,000 (£379,201)

League-phase draws: €150,000 (£126,400)

Aston Villa last competed in the Europa League during the 2010/11 season but never made it out of the qualifying rounds.

While it remains to be seen if Villa can go all the way this term, they will likely fancy their chances of picking up a win this week against a team set to be without one of their main strikers.

Go Ahead Eagles confirm injury blow before Aston Villa

A statement on their official website this week confirmed the absence of Victor Edvardsen for Thursday’s tie.

They wrote: “Go Ahead Eagles will be without Victor Edvardsen for the next few weeks. The Swede needs surgery and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.”

Edvardsen was a regular starter for the Dutch outfit prior to his injury, scoring one and assisting two in six league matches this term.

Go Ahead Eagles have lost their last three Eredivisie fixtures without the forward, but picked up a 2-1 win over Panathinaikos in their most recent European outing.
