The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have proven that they’re one of the best teams in the NFL after the first seven weeks of the 2025 season, but after their tough Monday Night Football loss against the Detroit Lions there were some questions about how Todd Bowles’ team could look the rest of the year.

The Lions thoroughly handled the Bucs in Week 7, handing Tampa Bay their second loss of the season, but the even bigger concern for Bowles’ squad was a major injury suffered on offense that could leave the Bucs hampered with star quarterback Baker Mayfield throwing the ball downfield.

The MVP frontrunner lost top wide receiver Mike Evans for an extended period after suffering a brutal collarbone injury on Monday night, and just as significant for the veteran he won’t be able to continue his legendary run as one of the league’s elite wideouts.
For the first 11 seasons of his career, Evans has managed to top 1,000 yards in every single one of those campaigns, which is something that only Jerry Rice was able to do during his legendary NFL tenure.
