The Cleveland Browns started the season 1-5, but ran over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday en route to a 31-6 victory to earn their second win of the season.
However, sitting at 2-5, the Browns likely aren't going anywhere this season, and that opens the door to give every player a chance to show what they can do.
Rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel is the Browns' starter, and he has been since Week 5. However, this week, ESPN insider Tony Rizzo revealed when fellow rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders could make his NFL debut.
When will Sanders play for the Browns?
The Browns drafted two quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft. Gabriel came first in the third round, and Sanders came in the fifth round.
Cleveland had veteran quarterback Joe Flacco start the season, but went to Gabriel just five games in. The former Oregon quarterback hasn't done anything special in his three starts, which leads to the question of when Sanders will get his opportunity.
On his Monday show, ESPN Cleveland's Tony Rizzo may have just answered that question.
"It’s not going to happen anytime soon. I get it, but you have the Patriots and then the bye week. I was told by two different sources yesterday at the stadium," Rizzo said. "One said Shedeur would start the last four games of the season, unless the Browns win every game through the Titans week.
Two different sources told @TheRealTRizzo yesterday that the Browns WILL play Shedeur Sanders this season.

"Shedeur will play the Bears, Bills, Steelers and Bengals. They want to see what he’s got."
It's very unlikely the Browns will shock the NFL and win six straight games. So, it sounds like the plan is for Sanders to start the final four games of the season to show the Browns what he's got.
It won't be an easy schedule for the former Colorado Buffalo, as all four teams could be competing for a playoff spot. However, at least Sanders will get a chance.
Rizzo's second source said Sanders could play even earlier than that.
Nothing is set in stone yet. But, it sounds like Sanders, at the very least, should make his NFL debut later this season.
