Quinyonamo Bay is back after the Philadelphia Eagles' 28-22 win over the Minnesota Vikings. After dealing with injuries and a subpar performance against the Broncos, the 2024 first-round pick was back in form with his game against Justin Jefferson during week seven.
Mitchell returned to his All-Pro level self, especially while covering All-Pro receiver Justin Jefferson. Mitchell held Jefferson to just one reception on three targets totaling 10 yards across 20 defensive snaps. While many may be shocked, this has been quite the norm for Mitchell, as he's consistently held players like Davantae Adams, Mike Evans, Emeka Egbuka, and others to pedestrian outings when at his best.
The Eagles was desperate for a Mitchell bounce-back game
Mitchell's performance came at a time when the Eagles needed stability at the cornerback position. After dealing with an injury to Jakorian Bennett, Philadelphia has struggled to keep pace with receivers, especially when calling upon Kelee Ringo and Adoree' Jackson. Both Ringo and Jackson have been significant liabilities in the secondary, which was highlighted in week six when Mitchell was pulled from the game with an injury.
Overall, Mitchell has continued to be a shining piece in the Eagles' defensive backfield and should garner plenty of respect come the off-season. He's totaled 29 tackles and seven pass breakups while holding receivers to a 50% completion percentage and a 75.6 passer rating against him. It is worth noting as well that he's only given up one touchdown.
With the Eagles set to have their second bout against the Giants, the hope is that Mitchell can give Philadelphia a complete game in Week 8. While the Giants are without Malik Nabors, New York has seen an uptick in production from Wan'Dale Robinson, Daniel Bellinger, and Theo Johnson, and is relying on Cam Skattebo to deliver punishing runs between the tackles.

While the Giants may not test Mitchell through the air, he will have to contribute in the run-fit, where Jackson and Ringo struggled mightily during week six in his absence.
