Kobbie Mainoo considering Manchester United exit as Newcastle United consider move

**Newcastle United have been credited with an interest in Manchester United's young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo in recent months.**

The England star has seemingly fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim, and now the 20-year-old is thought to be considering a loan exit in January to boost his chances of breaking into Thomas Tuchel's World Cup squad.

Mainoo burst onto the scene around the same time as Lewis Miley, and the two were compared relentlessly online between the two fanbases, but it was the Manchester United starlet who caught the attention of Gareth Southgate and made it into the England setup.

Despite that bright start to his career, he's now finding minutes very difficult to come by at Man United under Amorim, and he knows that he needs to be playing regularly to stand a chance of being involved in the World Cup next summer.

Kobbie Mainoo is considering his future

Kobbie Mainoo is weighing up his options ahead of January

---------------------------------------------------------

Tottenham and even Manchester City are supposedly interested in Mainoo, along with Newcastle, according to [TeamTALK](https://www.teamtalk.com/manchester-united/kobbie-mainoo-stance-united-exit-revealed-four-prem-rivals-january).

Newcastle could probably do with another quality midfielder in their arsenal, in our opinion, as Joe Willock just isn't filling us with confidence of late.

Additionally, Jacob Ramsey, who had his injury troubles at Aston Villa, has already spent weeks on the sidelines after his arrival on Tyneside, so bodies wouldn't be a bad thing.

Would Kobbie Mainoo get the game time he needs at Newcastle?

------------------------------------------------------------

Our issue here is that we don't feel like Mainoo is good enough to get in ahead of any of the regular midfield three. Maybe Joelinton, who is having a slow start to the season, but Ramsey and maybe even Lewis Miley would go ahead of Mainoo.

If Kobbie Mainoo is after a loan move to get his minutes up to boost his England chances, then a move to Newcastle isn't the one, as we don't think he'd be given enough time to work his way back into the England team.

We'd take him at the club, absolutely, as we're sure Eddie Howe could turn him into a baller, but we'd prefer him to come on a permanent basis to have the time to grow under Howe. It seems Mainoo is counting on Amorim not being around long, so a loan makes sense.
