Cincinnati Bengals fans can finally breathe fresh air after snapping their four-game losing streak with a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football.
Quarterback Joe Flacco got things to work in his second week with the team, and against one of the best defenses in football. Flacco threw for 342 passing yards, three touchdowns, and led a game-winning drive to cap off the Week 7 win.
The Bengals pulled off the upset without their top defensive player, Trey Hendrickson. The 2024 sack leader missed the game after suffering a hip injury in Week 6. Just a week ago, his name had surfaced in trade discussions, and an NFL insider has since provided an update on those talks.
Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson is not expected to be moved before Nov. 4 trade deadline
Just a few weeks ago, while the future of the franchise was in question, Trey Hendrickson's name appeared in trade talks. Now, after securing their first win in over a month, Cincinnati's panic has regressed.
According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, "Cincinnati isn't shopping him (Trey Hendrickson), and after the Bengals' Thursday night win, most do not expect him to get moved."
Hendrickson, 30, recently signed a one-year, $29 million contract extension this offseason after a dramatic training camp holdout with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Through six games, he's registered 10 total tackles, four sacks, and a forced fumble before missing his first game since 2022 with a hip injury.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor labeled the injured defenseman as "day-to-day" heading into Week 8 against the New York Jets. Although he's uncertain to play in Cincinnati's upcoming game, it appears that he won't be getting traded before the Nov. 4 NFL trade deadline.
