Liverpool have confirmed that their press conference at Deutsche Bank Park to preview Wednesday's Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt has been cancelled. Liverpool head coach Arne Slot and midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai were due to speak to the media from 6.30pm.

However, a statement from the Reds reads: "Our pre-match press conference for the clash with Eintracht Frankfurt has been cancelled.

"A delay in the squad's scheduled flight out to Frankfurt, due to technical issues with the aircraft, means the briefing will now not be able to take place."

The Liverpool squad are still at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Reporters had arrived at Frankfurt's home ground but the press conference will now not take place.

It is unclear whether midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is part of the travelling Reds squad.

Gravenberch twisted his ankle when challenging Bryan Mbeumo early in the second half of Sunday's 2-1 home loss to Manchester United and while he initially tried to play on, he was withdrawn shortly after the hour-mark.

Slot would confirm after the game that his fellow Dutchman's withdrawal was a result of his injury and he would be assessed ahead of the trip to Germany.

But Gravenberch was not part of the open training session that took place's at the AXA Training Centre earlier today.

There was at least better news for Liverpool as Wataru Endo returned to training. The Japan international missed the defeat to United with a hamstring injury, having also sat out international duty after suffering the issue against Chelsea.
