Enzo Maresca was quizzed about his options at central forward for the **Chelsea**clash with Ajax.
**Liam Delap**has been out of action since a 2-0 defeat of **Fulham**in the Premier League at the end of August, having pulled up with a hamstring injury in the first quarter of an hour at Stamford Bridge. He will remain on the sidelines for this **Champions League**contest, but he is closer to a return.
Joao Pedro has been the number nine in his absence— even if his best work has often come as more of a second striker with the freedom to roam and find space to get the ball across the frontline. He is also going to miss the match on Wednesday evening as he received a red card late against Benfica.
This situation means that Maresca is likely to use one of two young players to fill in the position against the Dutch outfit. One is a Cobham graduate who has shown he is a sharp shooter from central areas while the other is a hard working Spaniard who applied himself well at Nottingham Forest.
*“We have Marc Guiu. We have also Tyrique George who played games as a nine in the past. He did well. He play I think against Benfica as a nine. So we have we have different option. We see we have one more session this afternoon and then we decide.*
*“We trust Marc. We trusted him already last year he was always playing in the Conference League. We also give him some Premier League games. So we show in the past that we trust Marc. Now he is again with us and he's going to play games for sure.*
“Liam is very close. He's not working with us yet but hopefully he can start in the next days to take part of the session with us.”
