'The Goal Is Simple': Warriors Look Toward 8th Championship Ahead Of New NBA Season

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The Golden State Warriors have one goal this season: An eighth NBA championship.

The 2025-2026 NBA season kicks off Tuesday. To start, the Warriors will be playing on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.

In a video posted on social media on Tuesday morning, the team expressed its expectations heading into the season.

The Warriors won three championships during that run, led by Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and, for a few years, Kevin Durant. They also broke the Chicago Bulls' record for most wins in a season.

In 2022, Steph Curry and Green secured their fourth championship ring, winning the final series against the Boston Celtics in six games.

"We know we can beat anybody, no matter who the matchup is," Curry, who is heading into his 17th season in the NBA, said in the video. "We just want an opportunity to do it."

The Warriors are currently ranked 8th in the NBA's power rankings heading into the season. With the addition of Center Al Horford during the offseason, they currently have four of the 20 oldest players in the league.
