‘Come back stronger’: Idrissa Gueye Sends Message to Everton Teammate

Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye has sent a message of support to teammate Jarrad Branthwaite.

Branthwaite has had a prolonged spell of the sidelines through injury and is yet to feature this season.

It was reported he was back in training ahead of the weekend’s trip to Manchester City, in a boost for the Blues.

However, the 23-year-old suffered a setback on his hamstring, requiring surgery.

After a successful procedure today, the defender posted a message on social media revealing his determination to regain fitness.

He said: “Operation completed successfully. Thanks to the medical team for their work and to everyone who’s reached out with messages of support.

“Even the negative ones add fuel to the fire and make me more determined.

“It’s been the toughest spell of my career so far but challenges build character.

“I’ll be stronger and better. Don’t doubt it.”

In a message of support, teammate Idrissa Gueye posted a reply to Branthwaite’s statement.

The Senegalese international replied: “Come back stronger you lad.”

BRANTHWAITE INJURY A HUGE BLOW FOR BLUES

Now facing a prolonged spell in the treatment room, Branthwaite’s injury is a huge blow for Moyes.

Indeed, it is even more frustrating given that he was on the cusp of a return to fitness.

Michael Keane has partnered Tarkowski in Branthwaite’s absence and it has to be said he has been excellent.

However, to be without such a key player at a key time in his development is a blow that can’t be underestimated.

It is perhaps a cause for concern that this is the third injury Branthwaite has suffered to the same hamstring.

The defender has already shown his class and has the potential to be among the best around.

He’ll be back stronger no doubt, but for how long we’ll be without the young lad remains to be seen.
