I guess as West Ham fans, we’ll cling on to any glimmer of hope that suggests change might be around the corner.
Let’s face it, it’s hard to decide whether defence, midfield or attack was the worst part of the Hammers’ performance against Brentford. But most would agree — if we can’t score goals, Nuno doesn’t stand a cat in hell’s chance of keeping the club up.
So whilst I might look at this evening’s West Ham [transfer](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-transfer-news/) report from TBR Football with a raised eyebrow, I certainly hope it’s true.
The football website has claimed that the Hammers are back in talks to sign Real Madrid wonderkid Endrick. The Brazilian international is struggling for game time in La Liga this season and is reportedly available on loan to the right club.
Wonderkid can leave for the right club

At this moment in time, it’s difficult to believe anyone would consider West Ham to be that “right club” — but we can at least live in hope.
Chief Correspondent for [TBR Football](https://tbrfootball.com/west-ham-now-in-talks-to-sign-player-who-rejected-them-in-january-with-double-deal-possible/), Graham Bailey, has reported: “West Ham are already in talks with the Spanish giants regarding a deal for Endrick this winter.”
It sounds lovely, but it doesn’t quite fit with Jeff Stelling’s report on talkSPORT that Callum Wilson is stuck on the bench at West Ham because Nuno Espírito Santo has been told his appearance fee is too high. Are we skint or are we spending . . . who knows?
Believe whichever version of events you want — the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. But whether it’s Real Madrid’s Endrick or anyone else, one thing’s for certain: if West Ham’s bosses don’t spend money in the January transfer window, their shares will plummet into insignificance
