Lakers' LeBron James Receives Blunt Message on Winning NBA Title

When it comes to Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, there aren’t many accomplishments that he hasn’t already achieved across his 22 seasons in the NBA.

Something that the future Hall of Famer is likely looking to do for a fifth time before he calls it a career is win an NBA championship.

With James’ five-time All-NBA teammate Luka Doncic making it known that he wants to win now, there is no doubt that the purple and gold will do everything in their power to make a deep playoff run.

On the KG Certified podcast with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, the two Hall of Famers spoke on the King’s chances to secure another title before he hangs it up. Pierce, a longtime direct rival to James in his playing days, asserted that James won’t be able to do so in Los Angeles.

“All right,” Garnett said, “say he wants another ring.”

“You’re gonna have to go to OKC [the Oklahoma City Thunder] or Denver [the Denver Nuggets] or something,” Paul responded.

Garnett shut down Pierce’s point, noting that a James pairing with Nikola Jokic wouldn’t be plausible. Pierce countered that there aren’t enough existing pieces on the current Lakers squad to make it championship-caliber.

“They gotta add some pieces to the Lakers because they got Luka, dog,” Pierce said. “Luka is arguably the best player in the league. Like, damn. And that ain’t enough with Bron? Damn.”

Although there was no shortage of speculation this season on whether the King would return to LA this season (or to professional basketball, in general), he seems to be set to at least begin his record-extending 23rd NBA season with the purple and gold.

James is coming off a 24.4 point, 8.2 assist, and 7.8 rebound per game season and will be 41 years old this December.
