The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense has been on the wrong end of a handful of injuries, with Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Jalen McMillan all missing time this season.
What that does is give opportunities to other players to step up for Baker Mayfield and make plays.
One such receiver who has done that is rookie Tez Johnson.
With the injuries at receiver, Johnson has been on the field a lot in the past three weeks, and he has repaid the faith put in him by the coaches, totaling 59, 45, and 58 yards along with two touchdowns to be one of the key contributors for Josh Grizzard's unit.
But while some might be walking with their chest puffed out after three superb weeks of production, Tez isn't interested in all that fanfare.
"I'm just playing my role," Johnson said. "Whatever the coaches asked me to do, I try to do it to the best of my ability. I don't look at my role bigger than what it's supposed to be. Whatever I can do to help the team, that's what I'm going to do."

Tez needed now more than ever for Mayfield
With Evans breaking his collarbone against the Detroit Lions and the timeline for Godwin's return not known, especially with a bye after the New Orleans Saints game, Tez will be called up a lot more in Grizzard's offense.
Through three weeks, he's answered the call, putting up good numbers and playing his role. Emeka Egbuka and Cade Otton are others who will need to step up consistently, but they need help, and it will have to come from Tez, Kameron Johnson, and Sterling Shepard.
Life comes at you fast for rookies, and Tez has gone from No. 5 or No. 6 on the depth chart to getting a lot of snaps and making play after play.
While the injuries aren't ideal, it has given players like Tez the chance to showcase his skills, and it appears the Buccaneers might just have another young weapon at receiver.
