The Denver Broncos have won four games in a row and their latest, a miraculous win over the New York Giants this past Sunday, is one fans will never forget.
The Broncos went into the fourth quarter down 19-0, completely letting Broncos Country down on a day in which the Super Bowl 50 team was honored and Demaryius Thomas was added to the Ring of Fame. It looked like a sad ending, until the Broncos rattled off 33 fourth-quarter points to win the game 33-32.
Vinnie Iyer of The Sporting News has created his most recent power rankings and though he moved the Broncos up, they are still outside the top 10 despite everything just mentioned.
"The Broncos made a great escape with Bo Nix grinding to make plays to recover from early struggles against the Giants. That was a necessary character building win for the QB to help Denver's defense and keep the team in first place", wrote Iyer.
The Broncos currently lead the AFC West with a 5-2 record, but Iyer still has five AFC teams ahead of them in the rankings. Had the team soundly defeated the Giants, it may have made a difference in the rankings this week, but needing every second to do that may make the team's ranking by Iyer at No. 12 correct.
The Broncos could win some points in these rankings in Week 8 if they can take care of the high-powered Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have one of the best offenses in the NFL but also one of the worst defenses. They also haven't beaten the Broncos in three decades.
