Why Moses Moody isn’t playing tonight for Warriors vs. Lakers

The Golden State Warriors start their season on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers.

They’re just a little bit shorthanded.

Moses Moody isn’t taking part in the action, a bummer for the talented wing and for the Warriors.

It did make things a bit easier for the Warriors to set their starting lineup. They didn’t have to worry about how Moody would slot in.

The Warriors went with a starting five of Stephen Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Jimmy Butler, Jonathan Kuminga and Draymond Green. They opted to bring Al Horford and Buddy Hield off the bench.

When Moody gets back, there will be some decisions to be made. But for now, the Warriors will just have to figure out how to operate without him.

Why isn’t Moses Moody playing tonight?

Moses Moody is out for the Warriors due to injury.

He’s got a nagging calf problem that is keeping him out.

Moody missed the final three games of the preseason with the calf injury, so it’s clearly something that has been bothering him.

A calf injury is a bit concerning for a basketball player. There are sometimes concerns about it leading to an Achilles issue.

Of course, Warriors fans are hoping Moody heals up and is good to go. His athleticism and length will be a boost to the Golden State lineup as soon as he can get back on the floor.
