'All about him': Ange habit that fans can't stand

Mark Bosnich has urged Ange Postecoglou to change his media strategy and reach out to a management legend in a bid to reignite his coaching career.

Postecoglou's Premier League reputation is now in tatters after he failed to win any of his eight games in charge of Nottingham Forest.

The 60-year-old Australian was brutally sacked after 39 days in the job following the 3-0 loss to Chelsea at the weekend.

Before that match, Postecoglou came out swinging in his press conference, delivering a lengthy monologue in defence of his long and proud record - in particular his Tottenham Hotspur tenure.

But there was less of an effort to talk about the myriad issues at hand at the City Ground.

"The press conferences that he does, don't do him any favours. They need to be polished up completely," Premier League champion Bosnich told Stan Sport's Added Time.

"The press conference on Friday, the five minute monologue, if I was a Forest fan, I would be saying, what about us? You're here right now.

"When you are on a streak, which you haven't won for quite some time, it's not ideally the right time. And I straight away thought, if he loses tomorrow, he's gone."

Postecoglou revels in his underdog status and seems to draw energy from it.

But Bosnich believed he should seek counsel from some of the best in the business.

"Remember, he's not very experienced at this level. Get close to somebody, like a Arsene Wenger, with great seniority, great experience of the particular profession that you're in," Bosnich said.

"Wouldn't it be wonderful if he had the ability to call Arsene Wenger, to call Alex Ferguson, to call somebody just to say, can I bounce a few things off you? The chip on the shoulder is understandable because of where he's come from, but it got to the point where it started to become all about him rather than the place that he's at."

Bosnich said Postecoglou should consider a sabbatical and did not rule out his chances of returning to the Premier League in the long-term.

"I think a team in Europe would be good for him. I'm thinking a team just below the big teams...

"But I wouldn't rule out an international team."

Postecoglou has been linked with a potential return to Celtic.

Craig Foster, meanwhile, was baffled by Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis' decision to fire both Nuno Espirito Santo and Postecoglou and now hire Sean Dyche.

"He left him (Postecoglou) to the wolves. He's insane," Foster said.
