Euros win gave Scott confidence for new season - and he's enjoying run in team

Scott played a key role in Slovakia as England won their second consecutive U21 Euros crown, with the [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/?ref=au) player starting in the final against Germany.

Reflecting on the tournament win and how it had helped him heading into the 2025/26 season after Bournemouth drew at Crystal Palace on Saturday, Scott said: “For me personally, it's done so much.

“The summer gave me a lot of confidence going into the season. I've started strong, and I've got the managers trust now, to start me from the off which is brilliant.

“Crystal Palace are a top side. They've shown that in the past few seasons with winning the Cup and the Community Shield as well. It shows what level they're at as a club now, obviously playing in Europe now as well.

“And that's ultimately our dream. We'll be looking to do that this season. Like I said, we've started so strong, and it's tough in the Premier League, the games are very difficult every single week.

“We've got to keep that consistency throughout the whole season. So yeah, it's exciting times ahead and I'm looking forward to it.”

Scott has struggled with injuries at times while at Bournemouth, but towards the back end of last season and the start of this season he has been able to string a number of games together without disruption.

He missed four months last term with a knee injury, and while he returned in February, he admitted it took until April to feel he was back up to speed.

Scott said he feels ‘really good’ and has been able to show his true ability with a good run in the side.

“To be honest I'm just grateful, touch wood, no more injuries,” he said.

“It's been hard the past few years. I've not played as much as I wanted to. To be able to get in rhythm and play consistently game after game.

“And the end of last season sort of showed that, and then the summer played in the Euros, won that, and then started this season, like I said, a lot of confidence going into it.

“And, beginning with that trust from the manager so I'm just enjoying my football.

“That's what I want to do, consistently, learning, learning off the players here, the coaches here, and, like I said enjoying my football and grateful to be on the pitch.”
