New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson has seen his fair share of NFL head coaches throughout his career. He has started in 202 games over 13 seasons with four different NFL teams. However, apparently he doesn’t get along too well with one of them.

Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton, and Russell Wilson, the quarterback of the New York Giants, are officially at odds:
This past Sunday, the Broncos defeated the Giants in a 33-32 thriller. Payton couldn’t help but take a shot at Wilson while talking about Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, who had 283 passing yards, four total touchdowns and an interception.
“I have a ton of respect for that organization,” Payton said. “I spent four of my early years there coordinating, Super Bowl, first game in this stadium, before 9/11. I’m close with the Mara and Tisch families. And they found a little spark with that quarterback. I was talking to John Mara not too long ago and I said we were hoping that that change would have happened long long after our game.”
There’s no question Payton was throwing shade at Wilson, who was benched by the Giants after a Week 3 performance where he completed 56.2% of his passes and tossed two interceptions.
On Tuesday afternoon, Wilson fired back at his former coach. He didn’t pull any punches, that’s for sure.
“Classless… but not surprised…. Didn’t realize you’re still bounty hunting 15+ years later through the media,” Wilson wrote on X.
Ouch.
