David Moyes has already seen enough from Tyler Dibling to be pleased with his start to life at Everton. The teenager was the club’s most expensive signing of the summer after their pursuit led to an initial £35m deal with Southampton for the England youth international.
Dibling is yet to have enjoyed a breakthrough moment at Everton and has started just one match in the Premier League so far. Yet Moyes is happy with what he has seen from his first weeks working with the 19-year-old and has stressed he is willing to show patience while he adapts to life on Merseyside.
The Blues hoped to sign Dibling in pre-season, wanting to pull off a deal at a time that would have allowed the player greater opportunity to bed himself in away from the pressures that come once the season has started.

Everton walked away from talks with the Saints after growing frustrated with their demands, banking the Championship club would eventually baulk.
That tactic was vindicated and when the south coast outfit signalled they were open to business on terms closer to the Blues' valuation, a deal was finally reached.
The result is that Everton now possess one of the country’s brightest talents. The challenge, now, is to encourage his development in his first stint away from his childhood club.
Moyes, for one, is placing no timescales on Dibling’s progress.
The Everton manager said: “When you sign players, it's not easy for it all to fall into place right away, especially when we are in a world where everything's expected so quick and to be done so early that things should work.
“I think Kiernan (Dewsbury-Hall) and Jack (Grealish) have both fit in really well, but maybe the Premier League experience, being in the Premier League before, playing in the stadiums etc etc makes it that bit easier… Tyler has got that as well but obviously from a lower level and a younger age.”
The club's coaches are encouraging Dibling to try and learn from teammate Grealish, while assistant managers Leighton Baines and Billy McKinlay have been taking him through clips of Champions League winning wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.
Moyes is a fan of Dibling’s ball-carrying ability and the deftness with which he controls the ball and has been genuinely impressed by what he has seen of the youngster so far, adding: “I want him to look at Jack, how he plays, how composed he is on the ball, but I have to say that Tyler has really impressed me with his close skills and ability.
“He is a quiet boy and it is going to take a bit of time for him to come out of his shell.”
