Aston Villa and Wolves' Premier League rivals have turned to Sean Dyche as their new manager
Aston Villa won 2-1 away at Tottenham Hotspur last time out in the Premier League to keep their impressive upturn in form going. They fell 1-0 down at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after Rodrigo Bentancur’s early goal in the first-half. However, Unai Emery’s men fought back to win 2-1 after goals by Morgan Rogers and Emi Buendia.
As for Wolves, they lost 2-0 against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. Their winless start to the new season continues as they face a battle for survival under Vitor Pereira. They are inside the bottom three along with West Ham and Nottingham Forest.
Aston Villa and Wolves’ rivals Nottingham Forest turn to Sean Dyche
Nottingham Forest have appointed Sean Dyche as their new head coach. They have picked him as their replacement for Ange Postecoglou. The 57-year-old has penned a contract at The City Ground running until the summer of 2027.
It has been a tough start to the campaign for the Reds and they find themselves in the drop zone along with Wolves. They are having to juggle their domestic duties with European football at the moment which is proving to be tough. Nuno Espirito Santo departed earlier this term and was replaced by Postecoglou. However, the Australian’s short lived tenure turned out to be a disaster.
Dyche has now been brought in to steady the ship. The Kettering-born man knows the club well already and started his career at Nottingham Forest. He rose up through their academy ranks as a youngster but never played for their first-team.
He went on to have stints with the likes of Chesterfield, Bristol City, Luton Town, Millwall, Watford and Northampton Town before hanging up his boots in 2007. The ex-defender has since delved into the managerial world. He has had spells in the past in the dugouts at Watford, Burnley and Everton and will now be looking forward to sinking his teeth into a new challenge.
