Everton could be in the market for a new forward in January amid speculation surrounding Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee.
Everton have taken a step forward under David Moyes, but the lack of a real goalscorer is a problem.
Beto left Everton fans frustrated against Manchester City as he failed to find the net despite a couple of great chances.
Summer signing Thierno Barry does not look ready for Premier League action, and he hasn’t impressed so far.
That leaves Moyes without a clear goalscorer in attack, and the January window could offer some relief.

Friedkin-owned Roma join race for Everton-linked Joshua Zirkzee
Everton are keeping an eye on the market ahead of the January transfer window, and one interesting name has been linked.
Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee has been linked with Everton, having slipped down the Old Trafford pecking order.
Ruben Amorim wants to keep Zirkzee, but the Dutchman fears missing out on the World Cup.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Everton could explore a January loan deal, but another club is in the mix – and it’s Roma.
TalkSPORT claim that Roma want to bring Zirkzee back to Italy after his previous spell with Bologna.
Roma would even be willing to sacrifice loanee Evan Ferguson and send him back to Brighton and Hove Albion to make room for Zirkzee.
A return to Serie A could appeal to Zirkzee, and another Premier League option is on the table, with West Ham United keen.
All will depend on whether Amorim backs down over Zirkzee’s future, with Everton seemingly paying close attention.
Joshua Zirkzee rumours sum up conundrum facing The Friedkin Group
We recently highlighted that Everton and Roma are suffering similar problems in front of goal.
Beto and Barry are hardly firing at Everton, and the same goes for Ferguson and Artem Dovbyk at Roma.
The two clubs are owned by The Friedkin Group, and both Everton and Roma are likely to target new forwards in 2026.
There is a chance that the two clubs end up targeting the same players as a result, with Zirkzee a perfect example.
Dan Friedkin and co will hope to back both clubs with new signings in January, rather than leave one short in attack for the second half of the season.
