Ross Crea (23) was refused bail when he appeared at Dublin District Court.
Gardaí said two tracksuited assailants punched and kicked the fan, with one allegedly showing the attack to another person on a video call.
The alleged victim ended up in hospital and was so shaken, he returned home early to the UK, missing the game.
Ross Crea (23), who is alleged to have been one of the robbers, was refused bail when he appeared at Dublin District Court.
Judge Treasa Kelly remanded him in custody for DPP directions.
Mr Crea, a father of one of Wellview Grove, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15, is charged with robbery. The incident is alleged to have happened on September 26, two days before the Pittsburgh Steelers v Minnesota Vikings game at Croke Park.

Objecting to bail, Garda Eimear Redmond alleged the accused was one of two people who assaulted and robbed a man of his iPhone, worth €1,000, at Oliver Bond Street.
According to the prosecution, Mr Crea approached the man, who was staying in a nearby hotel, and demanded money before he was repeatedly punched in the face. It was alleged he then stood back and watched as the co-accused continued to assault the man.
The incident was allegedly shown to another person on a video call.
Mr Crea was not caught at the scene but it was alleged he was identifiable on CCTV.
After the robbery, the man attended St James’s Hospital for treatment and was unable to go to the game he had travelled for, returning home on an early flight. His phone was never recovered.
The court heard Mr Crea was co-operative with gardaí but made no admissions.
Applying for bail, defence solicitor Oscar Banahan said Mr Crea enjoyed a presumption of innocence and it was not a case where he was alleged to have been “caught red-handed”. He was allegedly identified on CCTV footage which featured “two young gentlemen, both wearing tracksuits”, Mr Banahan said.
The alleged victim was now back in the UK. Mr Banahan said the accused was currently living in a hostel and would abide by bail conditions, including staying out of the Dublin 8 area if required.
The judge said it was a “very serious matter” and she did not think there were any suitable conditions she could impose.
She remanded Mr Crea in custody to appear in Cloverhill District Court tomorrow.
