Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing former Barcelona striker Vitor Roque
Reports from Sports Witness suggest that Spurs have reignited their pursuit of Brazilian prodigy Vitor Roque, the 20-year-old striker currently thriving at Palmeiras. With Chelsea also entering the fray, this prospective January move might potentially turn into an off-the-pitch London Derby.
Roque’s trajectory is the perfect example of volatility of young talent. Acquired by Barcelona in 2024 for a substantial fee following a prolific spell at Athletico Paranaense, the forward struggled to adapt in Catalonia. Limited minutes led to a loan at Real Betis, and by early 2025, he had returned to Brazil, for Palmeiras.

Tottenham are not new to understanding the kind of player Roque is. Initially showing interest in signing him, back in 2024, failing to take Barcelona over in the deal, and eventually backing out. We landed Dominic Solanke at the end, but that just goes to show Tottenham’s eye for talent and skill to catch it much earlier.
Unlike Chelsea, whose squad depth is already expansive yet prone to inconsistency, Tottenham offers a clearer pathway to prominence. Roque’s skill set complements Frank’s high-press transitional approach. That would allow for better rotation and also help ease Solanke’s return to top-flight action.
Think of his integration in wide or central roles, exploiting spaces behind defences in European ties or against compact Premier League opponents; such versatility could prove transformative, particularly amid the current attacking situation.
