REPORT: Arsenal And Chelsea 'In The Front Row' To Sign 'Incredible' Midfielder Who Could Be Available For £35M

Arsenal are among the clubs leading the race to sign Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram, according to reports in the Italian media.

TuttoJuve.com claim that the Gunners and Chelsea are in the “front row” to secure the services of the France international.

Thuram’s form has been described as “incredible” at the start of this season, and he is said to be attracting the attention of plenty of teams.

The 24-year-old only moved to Italy from Nice last year, but he has become an integral player for his current team in recent months.

Juventus won’t let Thuram leave on the cheap

It has been suggested that Juve will refuse to sell the Frenchman at any price, but Tutto Juve believe that this could simply by a ploy to get the most money out of potential suitors.

Thuram’s valuation is currently set at €40m (£35m), which is double what the Serie A side paid for him at the start of last campaign.

However, the interest being shown in the midfielder could see that price tag increase ahead of the January transfer window.

Do Arsenal need to strengthen in midfield?

It’s unlikely that the Gunners would pursue Thuram in January due to the sheer number of options available in the middle of the park.

However, things could change in the summer. Christian Norgaard has already talked about his future when he leaves the Emirates, despite only joining from Brentford in July.

If Norgaard were to push for a move at the end of the season, an approach for a player like Thuram would make a lot of sense. He is a dynamic midfielder who can be deployed as either a No.8 or No.6. He is also 7 years younger than the player he could replace.
